Eligibility for UPSC CDS I 2022

Educational qualification

Graduation in any stream is required also the candidates who are going to appear in the last year exams are also eligible to appear for UPSC CDS I exam.

How to apply

  • Interested candidates need to apply through the official website i.e http://upsconline.nic.in.
  • Before applying candidate should ensure the eligibility so its important to check the official notification
  • Visit the website and firstly, register with email and create password
  • Then mention all the required details along with required documents
  • Upload the documents for example photograph, signature, mark sheets etc.
  • Lastly, submit the form and pay the application fee if required

Application fee

There is no application fee for female/ST/SC candidates where as for General/OBS candidates it is Rs. 200

Process of selection

The entire process of selection for officers in Indian defence through UPSC CDS is further divided into three stages

  • Written examination
  • Interview Round( SSB)
  • Lastly, Medical Round

The candidate who clear all the rounds get shortlist further.  Depending on vacancies and performance (marks scored) of the candidate final merit list is generated and hence officers are selected to serve our nation.

Written examination– It is further divided into 3 parts. First exam for general studies( for 2hours), Then English( 2hours), lastly mathematics(2hours). The candidate who clears the cut off is further invited for interview round i.e SSB round.

Interview round– This round is for 5days.

Finally the Medical round  and military doctors conduct this round.
